Activities

Been up to all sorts of late. See below. New recordings out on the Bandcamp, made during a stay in Paris back 2015 and very Henry Flynt inspired after having spent a month or so studying with him in NYC at the time.

Also some performances coming up - Boom Vacuum is a new series for weirdo music set-up by myself and local guitarist and composer Kahl Monticone. First ep features legends such as Ross Manning, Leighton Craig, and Tony Irving/Marisa Allen duo. The house band for this series is a new combo called Pterodactyls featuring myself, Kahl, Eugene Carchesio (Deadnotes, himself), and Erik Griswold (Clocked Out, Australian Art Orchestra, himself).  BV will happen the last Weds of every month til Christmas or so. We also have some side events including a concert of Ariel Kalma which will be properly announced very soon...

BOOM VACUUM #1

Weee SCRAPES are re-emerging for our first gig since January with an appearance at the Restrung Festival here in Brisbane, details below. We also have the makings of our new record in the works...an endless boogie for the underground spiritual game....

THE SCRAPES AT RESTRUNG FESTIVAL 2017

Last but not least I am working on a mixtape of African violining for Power Moves Label's excellent Excavation Series. I also have collabs with Carter Thornton (Gnaw, himself and Bardo Todol (Pablo of 0+yn collective) looking for homes...the split with Bardo Todol is looking like it'll have a tape release but more on that soon. To top it all of discussions have been had with Eiderdown records for a release of some variety and my Bush Songs album is still awaiting release through the excellent Soft Abuse. There's probably more around but I can't even keep track of it....

Also I will be slowly unleashing tons of archive material on BANDCAMP over the coming months as they have proven to be the least cuntish platform for music sharing in the world with their sense of social conscience showing how powerful music can be.

Further to this unleashing shall be a new series of works made after work...worker's fiddle pieces...brending like a motherfucker. I will as I go, pick "the best" and share online for you all.

And last but not least I will eventually get around to completing the mixing of STREET MUSIC VOL. 2 for release one day (VOLUME 1 is avail for full download on my BANDCAMP nowadays too by the by). It is a series of rooftop solo violin pieces in the noisey surrounds of Dakar and St Louis, Senegal...think rusty fiddle licks UNDER blaring street noise, calls to prayer, bird calls and clanking bottles (mine mostly).

And it goes on and on...writing releases on the cards too through RabRab journal and more....enough from me.
